This policy describes how ComplianceBase ("we") handles information when you use https://www.compliancebase.org (the "Site"). We operate an independent educational reference. We do not sell personal data.

Information we collect

  • Server and hosting logs: standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamps) processed by our hosting and CDN providers to operate and secure the Site.
  • Analytics (if enabled): aggregated usage metrics via Google Analytics or a similar tool when a measurement ID is configured. Analytics cookies or similar identifiers may be used per that provider's terms.
  • Voluntary contact: if you email us, we process the content of your message and your email address to respond.
  • Blog/CMS data: published posts and author profiles may be stored in our database provider (Supabase). Public pages only expose published content.

Cookies and similar technologies

Essential cookies may be required for hosting, security, or load balancing. Analytics cookies, if used, help us understand which pages are useful. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Interactive tools on the Site are designed to run without requiring an account and without storing form answers on our servers when implemented client-side.

How we use information

We use information to operate, secure, and improve the Site; to understand aggregate traffic; and to respond to messages you send. We do not sell personal information. We do not use reference-page content as a lead-capture funnel.

Sharing and processors

We use infrastructure providers (for example hosting, CDN, database, and analytics vendors) who process data on our behalf under their respective terms. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the Site and users from abuse or security threats.

Retention

Logs and analytics are retained according to provider defaults and our operational needs. Email correspondence is retained as long as needed to resolve your request.

Your choices and requests

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Contact privacy@compliancebase.org. We will respond within a reasonable period.

Children

The Site is intended for business and professional audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above will change when we do. Continued use of the Site after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
